Client: Unkown (2019)
I was commissioned to design a logo for a client launching their online podcast. However, as the project progressed, we encountered a disagreement regarding the creative direction. Despite our initial enthusiasm, this difference in vision led to a halt in the process. While it was disappointing not to see the project come to fruition, it provided valuable insights into the importance of clear communication and alignment in the design process. This experience reinforced my commitment to ensuring that all parties are on the same page from the outset, which will enhance future collaborations.
Client: Harrison and Sons (2019)
In 2019, I was commissioned by Harrison and Sons to create a logo for their trucking business. This project was a significant opportunity for me, as it not only allowed me to explore the specific branding needs of the logistics industry but also introduced me to the creativity and possibilities inherent in product design. I worked closely with the company to understand their values and mission, focusing on crafting a logo that would effectively communicate their core principles of reliability and professionalism. The design process involved incorporating elements that reflected the company’s identity and its commitment to dependable, high-quality service. Through this project, I was able to experiment with different visual styles and concepts, ultimately creating a logo that was both unique and functional. This experience helped refine my design skills while also broadening my understanding of branding strategies and the competitive market of distributors. It allowed me to appreciate the importance of strong, meaningful branding in industries that rely on trust and efficiency, and it further shaped my approach to crafting designs that resonate with both businesses and their audiences.
Client: Unkown (2019/2020)
I was commissioned by a client leading a non-profit organization called Kiss Club to create a logo for their brand, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children. The logo design aimed to capture the essence of the organization, showcasing high-spirited children having fun and radiating positivity. By incorporating vibrant colors and playful elements, I sought to convey the joyful and uplifting mission of Kiss Club. This project not only allowed me to contribute to a meaningful cause but also reinforced the importance of visual identity in conveying an organization’s values and goals.
Looking back, this experience taught me the significance of a strong concept and, most importantly, how to deliver a clear message to the viewer without distractions. Interestingly, the client later requested another commission specifically for this purpose. This opportunity introduced me to the variations of logos, allowing me to design both a mascot and a combination logo, further expanding my skills and understanding of brand identity.
Personal Brand (2020)
While scouting for employment after graduation, I began taking online commissions and embraced the role of a seasonal designer. This experience allowed me to work on a variety of projects, honing my skills in different design styles and techniques. By collaborating with clients from diverse backgrounds, I gained practical insights into client needs and preferences, which enriched my understanding of design applications. This flexibility not only helped me build a robust portfolio but also provided valuable networking opportunities, ultimately enhancing my professional growth as I transitioned into the design industry. In the industry I came up with this identity of Patientstain and this is my brand identity.
Client: Soleado Enterprise (2022)
A client approached me to design a set of logos for their culinary food spot in Houston, TX, which uniquely blends Japanese cuisine with Western-style fast food in burger form. I was tasked with creating the official logo, as well as spin-off designs for their packaging. This project allowed me to explore innovative concepts that reflected the fusion of flavors while appealing to a diverse audience. Through a collaborative process with the client, I developed a visually striking logo that captures the essence of their brand, alongside packaging designs that enhance the overall dining experience. This opportunity not only showcased my versatility as a designer but also deepened my understanding of branding in the food industry.
Personal Project (2023)
I collaborated with a past classmate to create an application called Cloud Anime, where I took on the roles of product designer and UI/UX designer, focusing on the app prototype. The app serves as a geo-social platform that allows anime and convention enthusiasts to match and mingle with others in their area, offering additional features to enhance user interaction. This project was instrumental in introducing me to various design tools, including Figma, which I used to create wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes. Through this experience, I not only refined my design skills but also deepened my understanding of user-centered design principles, ensuring that the app was both engaging and intuitive for our target audience.
Self-Directed Project (2024)
Myth Institute, an educational platform designed to bridge the gap between higher education and workforce understanding. The app helps individuals learn essential skills, showcase portfolios, and seek job opportunities. It emphasizes life skills development by offering features like post filtration, subject enlistment, study group organization, and portfolio showcasing with specialized tools. The design process involved a thoughtful approach to the logo, where I drew inspiration from assets of previous projects while incorporating an eye symbol to represent insight and knowledge. This symbol reflects the app’s purpose: guiding newcomers to recruiters and organizations and providing them with the initial tools and methods to secure career opportunities. The result is an app that not only fosters learning but also connects users with the workforce, creating a bridge between education and real-world success.
Self-Directed Project (2024)
Lendora, a financial app aimed at fostering trust and providing an easy-to-use platform for lending services. In designing the logo, I drew inspiration from established financial apps, focusing on simplicity and clarity to reflect the app’s core values. The logo was intentionally kept minimal to promote recognition and professionalism across various platforms, from mobile icons to websites. Given that trust is a central objective of Lendora, the logo design emphasizes reliability and stability, key elements that users expect from a financial service. The clean, straightforward design ensures that the brand remains consistent and easily identifiable, helping it establish credibility in a competitive financial market. By prioritizing simplicity, the logo enhances the app’s accessibility, making it visually appealing and memorable for users across multiple devices and channels.
